After enough online sports betting, you’ll start to recognize patterns. Patterns like the Chiefs are 4-0 straight up when Kenneth Walker has 100-plus rushing yards. Or over 70% of the NBA games where Luka Doncic scores 40 have gone over the total. Restrictions used to prevent players from making parlays around these correlations, but now we live in a golden age of Same Game Parlays (SGP).
Here’s how Same Game Parlays work, how their odds are calculated, and how to build one at Bovada.
How Does a Same Game Parlay Work?
A Same Game Parlay, or SGP, combines two or more eligible wagers from the same game or match. Each selection is called a leg, and you place one stake on the combined result.
Yes, it’s like a parlay, but it doesn’t require multiple matchups to build a 10-teamer.
An SGP can involve:
- Game Moneyline: Which team wins.
- Game Point spread: Whether a team covers the listed margin.
- Game total: Whether combined scoring finishes Over or Under a number.
- Team totals: How many points one team scores.
- Player props: Individual points, passing yards, rebounds, touchdowns, and more.
- Half and Quarter bets: spreads, moneylines, and totals on both the match and each team.
If all the legs succeed, the payday could be huge. But if any leg fails, it all fails – just like a standard parlay.
Only eligible combinations are accepted. You’ll find these when you click on the matchup and make your picks from the SGP tab.
Same Game Parlay Examples
These examples are hypothetical and illustrate ticket construction rather than current Bovada lines.
NFL Same Game Parlay Example
Here’s a hypothetical example of someone building a ticket based on a stats and a belief:
- Belief: Quarterback Dak Prescott will dominate an Arizona Cardinals defense that can stop the run but has no pass rush and an injury-riddled secondary.
- Stats: The Cowboys average 25 points per game and are 5-1 at home when Prescott throws for over 250 yards:
The SGP Parlay
- Cowboys moneyline.
- Dak Prescott Over 299.5 passing yards.
- CeeDee Lamb over 69.5 receiving yards.
- Dak Prescott to record 2+ Passing touchdowns.
- Cowboys over 24.5 points.
Everything in this SGP points to a correlated result. If Prescott dominates Arizona as expected and throws for over 300 yards, Lamb, his No. 1 receiver, should be a big part of that success. Also, if he throws for that many yards, it’s not crazy to expect multiple touchdowns and a decisive Cowboys win that hits their 25-point average.
NBA Same Game Parlay Example
Here’s an NBA example:
- Belief: Oklahoma City will beat a Denver defense struggling to stop penetration and protect the rim. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who dominates with mid-range and paint scoring, should benefit.
- Stats: The Thunder average 118 points per game and are 8–2 at home when Gilgeous-Alexander scores at least 30 points.
The SGP Parlay
- Thunder moneyline.
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 29.5 points.
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to record 6+ assists.
- Thunder Over 114.5 team points.
- Over 224.5 total game points.
Here’s how it all connects: If Gilgeous-Alexander exploits the Nuggets’ defense as expected, he can score himself or draw help and find open teammates, supporting his points and assists bets. That production could help Oklahoma City exceed its team total and win. The game total also anticipates Denver, a high-scoring team, contributing enough scoring to push the combined total past 224.5.
Obviously, these outcomes are never guaranteed. WR CeeDee Lamb could get injured in the first quarter, or Gilgeous-Alexander could have an off night, but it gives players the chance to make correlated parlays that can snowball into big results.
How Are Same Game Parlay Odds Calculated?
Same Game Parlay payouts work like any other parlay.
If every bet is -110 odds, an SGP can have up to 10 legs at the following odds:
| Legs | Odds on Each Leg | Combined Parlay Odds | Total Return on $10 | Probability of Winning* |
| 2 | -110 | +264 | $36.45 | 25% |
| 3 | -110 | +596 | $69.58 | 12.5% |
| 4 | -110 | +1,228 | $132.83 | 6.25% |
| 5 | -110 | +2,436 | $253.59 | 3.125% |
| 6 | -110 | +4,741 | $484.13 | 1.563% |
| 7 | -110 | +9,142 | $924.24 | 0.781% |
| 8 | -110 | +17,545 | $1,764.46 | 0.391% |
| 9 | -110 | +33,585 | $3,368.52 | 0.195% |
| 10 | -110 | +64,208 | $6,430.82 | 0.098% |
If the odds differ from -110, the SGP adjusts based on how much the line is a favorite or an underdog. Also, if SGP bets are strongly correlated, the SGP odds will change accordingly.

Same Game Parlay FAQ
What’s the Difference Between a Standard Parlay and a Same Game Parlay?
A standard parlay is up to 16 selections and usually combines bets across different games. An SGP allows up to 10 bets within one matchup. While the parlay odds are similar, the SGP odds can change based on correlation.
What Happens if One Selection Pushes?
A push removes the selection and recalculates the odds based on the remaining active legs. If you have a two-team SGP, a push reduces it to a single. The same rules apply to voided bets.
Can You Cash Out a Same Game Parlay?
SGP Cash Outs are currently unavailable.
Can You Combine Picks From Multiple Games?
Yes. Cross-game SGPs are available with up to 16 total picks.
