Garbrandt Battles Dillashaw as Underdog on UFC 227 Odds
Cody Garbrandt will be looking to avenge the first loss of his professional MMA career and regain the UFC bantamweight crown he lost at UFC 217 when he steps into the octagon on Saturday for a rematch with reigning champion TJ Dillashaw as a narrow -105 underdog on the UFC 227 betting odds.

“No Love” saw his brief reign as UFC bantamweight champion come to an end with a stunning second-round knockout loss to Dillashaw as a -225 favorite, dropping his previously unblemished pro MMA record to 11-1 going into Saturday night’s matchup at Staples Center.
The 27-year-old stormed onto the UFC scene in 2015 after recording four first-round knockouts in his first five pro fights on the Pinnacle FC, Gladiators of the Cage, and NAAFS circuits. It took just five octagon appearances for Garbrandt to earn a UFC title shot, including dominating first-round victories over Augusto Mendes, Thomas Almeida, and Takeya Mizugaki.
Garbrandt faced a much tougher test in his battle with Dominick Cruz for the UFC bantamweight title at UFC 207. The Ulrichsville, Ohio native needed help from the judges to earn a controversial split decision, and handsomely reward bettors as a +185 underdog.
However, Garbrandt’s win streak was quickly brought to a halt with a loss in his first title defense to Dillashaw last November.
Pegged as a -125 favorite on the T.J. Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt fight odds, Dillashaw returns to the octagon for his second date with Garbrandt looking to extend his current win streak to four fights. “The Viper’s” last defeat came at UFC Fight Night 81, where a split decision loss to Cruz cost him the bantamweight title.
Dillashaw had claimed the belt 20 months earlier with a stunning fifth-round TKO victory over Brazilian legend Renan Barao as a +525 underdog at UFC 173. The California native proved his win over the long-time champion was not a fluke by following up with a fifth-round knockout of Joe Soto at UFC 177, before stunning Barao with a fourth-round TKO in their rematch at UFC on Fox 16 as -230 chalk, which earned the 32-year-old a third straight Performance of the Night bonus.
Mighty Mouse Clear Favorite on the UFC 227 Odds
The UFC flyweight title will also be up for grabs with a rematch in Saturday night’s co-main event, as champion Demetrious Johnson takes on Henry Cejudo as a huge -500 favorite on the UFC 227 odds.
“Mighty Mouse” has reigned as champion since claiming the inaugural UFC flyweight title by the narrowest of margins at UFC 152, getting the nod from the judges on a split decision while pegged as a +205 underdog.
Johnson has successfully defended his title on a record 11 occasions since that victory, including a dominating first-round TKO win over Cejudo at UFC 197 that earned him a Performance of the Night bonus, and paid out on short -350 odds.
A +350 underdog in his second bid for the UFC flyweight belt, Cejudo is unbeaten in his past two outings, but has never seen a fight go beyond three rounds.
