The NFL never stays predictable for long. One year a dynasty looks untouchable, the next a rising contender crashes the party — just ask the Eagles after they dominated the Chiefs two years ago, only to fall in the Wild Card wound this past season.
With rosters evolving, young quarterbacks emerging, and front offices constantly reshaping contenders, the league’s future champions are already taking shape. So which teams are best positioned to win the next five Super Bowls? Let’s look ahead and make some bold predictions.

2027: Rams over Broncos
After crushing it in free agency, and still holding the 13th pick in the Draft (Makai Lemon? Monroe Freeling? Kenyon Sadiq?), the Rams have the best roster on paper since at minimum the 2024 Eagles and at maximum, the Legion of Boom Seahawks or the prime Brady Patriots.
Former or current All-Pros at nearly every position, the reigning MVP at quarterback, elite weapons, and a top-tier head coach. And, combine that with the fact that the Seahawks lost multiple key starters in free agency and the NFC should run through Los Angeles – the site of the big game as well. And while the AFC feels wide open once again, I think the Broncos defense will be elite once again, despite losing Dre Greenlaw to the 49ers, and with a (hopefully) healthy Bo Nix, will be positioned to make a long run.
2028: Ravens over Packers
Lamar Jackson’s gotta win one at some point, right? It feels like the Ravens need one more season of development for their young defensive players like Mike Green and Malaki Starks, plus another offseason to get one more weapon for Lamar Jackson for this team to be truly Super Bowl caliber.
But once that happens, with Trey Hendrickson reaching the end of his prime and new head coach Jesse Minter breathing some much-needed fresh air into the organization, there’s no reason to pick against one of the most talented quarterbacks we’ve ever seen – and they take down Jordan Love’s Packers, with a fully healthy Micah Parsons.
2029: Commanders over Bills
I’m still all-in on Jayden Daniels as the best quarterback from the 2024 Draft class. The issue last season was a horrible surrounding roster, but GM Adam Peters has already done wonders this offseason to begin rebuilding this team to get them back to NFC Championship contender level.
Signing young players with upside like Odafe Oweh, K’Lavon Chaisson and Leo Chenal is going to be a HUGE boost for this defense, and then add in the 7th overall pick plus another top pick in 2027, and the Commanders will be right back near the top of the NFC.
The biggest question for, honestly both of these teams, is going to be who’s catching passes from these MVP candidate quarterbacks – Terry McLaurin will be 33, DJ Moore will be 32, and neither squad has invested in a good young wideout. Maybe young tight ends Chig Okonkwo and Dalton Kincaid can break out.
2030: Bills over Eagles
Josh Allen’s gotta win one at some point too right? The Bills roster is currently not Super Bowl worthy – but by 2030, assuming they hit on enough of their draft picks (no more Keon Colemans) and make enough shrewd free agency moves, I believe the great city of Buffalo will finally be able to jump through the table of glory. Allen is just too talented of a quarterback to forever be in the Dan Marino category.
2031: Chiefs over Saints
Don’t lie to yourself. Patrick Mahomes will be back at some point. When Tom Brady got hurt in 2008, it took the Patriots four years to reach the Super Bowl again. The roster will look totally different (Travis Kelce will be long gone in Taylor Swift world by then) and I wouldn’t be surprised if Andy Reid is no longer the coach but a 35 year Mahomes will still be a PROBLEM for opposing defenses.
Then I 100% believe in what the Saints are building with Tyler Shough. And is the NFC South ever going to be good?
