NFL’s Most Annoying Fanbases

Let’s start with some positives. Most of the time, when you visit a city to watch the NFL, you’ll see tailgates, families, cool fans who may throw a couple of jabs your way if you root for the opposing team. But like any sport, some NFL fanbases have a higher percentage of annoying fans amongst the good-natured ones.

They can be anything from annoyingly righteous to annoyingly overconfident, or, in some cases, annoyingly violent.

So how do we rank the NFL’s most annoying fanbases? Let’s poke the bear while you wait for next week’s NFL odds action at Bovada.

10. Las Vegas Raiders – From Black Hole to Blackjack

The Raiders used to be scary. Their old Oakland Stadium was called the “Black Hole,” where its fans were a mix of Halloween and UFC Fight Night. Now, it’s a pit stop for sports bettors, bachelor parties, or middle-aged moms in town for the latest residency.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers – We’re Bored, So We Travel

What is there to do in Pittsburgh? We assume besides building Minecraft cities it’s watching the Steelers. That’s why the fanbase grabs their yellow towels and follows the team on the road. While a passionate fanbase is commendable, the droves of Steelers fans that show up in opposing stadiums have us concerned for their social life.

8. Los Angeles Chargers – One Battle After Another

Which fanbase had the most stadium fights in 2025? Somehow, the Los Angeles Chargers – a surprise considering nobody knows where their fans come from. San Diego holdovers? Raiders fans who skipped Vegas? L.A. fans avoiding Rams prices?

The surest way to spot a real Chargers fan is even more annoying: Justin Herbert discourse. Find someone blaming everyone but Herbert for another backbreaking interception, and you’ve found a real one.

7. New York Giants – It’s New York

Have you seen Knicks fans? Have you seen Yankees fans?

As great as it was to see the Knicks finally get over the hump, taking your family to a New York game still means risking an unsolicited vocabulary lesson – especially if you’re rooting for the other team.

6. Houston Texans – The Bitter Ex

In the J.J. Watt era, Houston had all but forgotten the “Luv Ya Blue” brand that moved to Music City. But then, the Tennessee Titans did the unthinkable: they wore their Oilers throwbacks on a Sunday afternoon.

The Texans started looking at the Titans like an ex who suddenly got a summer bod, laying claim to the Oilers’ brand and colors – even though the city and franchise broke up and moved to Tennessee – they even played as the Tennessee Oilers before retiring the brand for the Titans.

The whining grew louder when the Titans unveiled their new Oilers-inspired uniforms for 2026, prompting Houston to counter with Oilers-style alternates. Tennessee fans deserve some blame for the nauseating discourse, but Houston fans deserve most of it – they only seemed to care once the Oilers look gained mainstream attention.

5. Dallas Cowboys – Remember America’s Team?

The Cowboys used to be No. 1 most annoying, and we’re sure they wore that as a badge of honor. But it’s not just that they haven’t made the NFC Championship Game since the Clinton era; it’s that they lack … flavor. The Cowboys had flashy stars like Deion Sanders and Michael Irving; even Tony Romo made headlines. Now they’re just another middling football team, and though the fanbase can still eat up your Twitter timeline, their confidence isn’t nearly as loud as it once was.

4. Buffalo Bills – Breaking Tables; Making Excuses

The “Bills Mafia” table-breaking stuff was cute for a minute, but then it started to feel a little try-hard.  Then the Josh Allen discourse heated up, and that’s how they ended up in the top five.

While Allen has been great at times, he’s had his share of mistakes, too. But don’t tell that to the Bills Mafia, apparently Allen has been devoid of any offensive talent for his entire NFL career, having to suffer with a 1600-yard running back in James Cook III, and wideouts like prime Stefon Diggs or vet DJ Moore.

3. New England Patriots – The Patriot Way = Blind Loyalty

Pats fans climb into the top three not just because of the arrogance and bandwagoners that come with sustained success, but because they defend the Pats’ long list of transgressions like Ty Law in press coverage:

Spygate, Deflategate, the owner soliciting prostitutes, or their head coach sleeping with reporters. The list is long and ever-growing, and these issues are either minimized or ignored completely.

“The Patriot Way” somehow became “just win, baby” once the rings started piling up.

2. Kansas City Chiefs – The Swiftie Circus

The Chiefs used to be known for their fiercely loyal fanbase, innovative offense, and humble success.

But since Taylor Swift arrived, the fanbase has increasingly gone … Hollywood. And it’s not just the Swift camera cuts or the influx of Swifties, but the growing number of celebs who seem to pop up beside her. Ice Spice was Swift’s new friend when they shared a single; then she disappeared. Caitlyn Clark and Swift somehow became short-term buddies between jump shots. And in September, Tom Cruise randomly appeared at a Chiefs game beside Swift right when the “Digger” rollout was in full swing; how convenient.

It’s hard to remember what an “old” Chiefs fan looks like because celebs, Swifties, and COVID-era bandwagoners replaced them all.

1. Philadelphia Eagles – They Love Misery and Rocky

Did you know that in the last four seasons, the Eagles have had at least 11 wins under head coach Nick Sirianni? Talk to an Eagles fan in 2026, and you’d think they’re the worst-coached franchise in the league. Eagles fans are annoyingly miserable and seem to have no appreciation for the contender Sirianni and the front office have built.

It’s as if they began to enjoy the 50-year mantra of being miserable and ringless yet passionate. The underdog who falls short but earns respect by exceeding expectations.

Now that the Eagles are yearly contenders, they’ve never been more unhappy. Poll some old-timers from the Eagles Nation and they probably appreciate the Dick Vermeil years more than Sirianni’s Super Bowl run.
