Week 1 storylines can be taken as a fluke. However, after Week 2, you can start evaluating teams and separate the real from the fake.

The Green Bay Packers’ defense is real. The Indianapolis Colts’ offense is real. And the Kansas City Chiefs’ struggles are 100% real.

But how does that leave Week 3 NFL odds? Bovada has Week 3 point spreads, moneylines, totals, and props on all 16 games in action. And to ensure you focus on the best matchups, we’ve outlined the best bets for Week 3.

Thursday Night Football

Miami Dolphins (0-2) at Buffalo Bills (2-0)

  • Start: September 18 at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video
  • Spread: Bills -12, Dolphins +12
  • Moneyline: Bills -800, Dolphins +525
  • Total: O/U 49.5

The Dolphins are desperate. It seems like team unity and the coaching staff are hanging by a thread, and they’re 0-2 against the spread (ATS). Meanwhile, the Bills are rolling, coming off a comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens and a Week 2 blowout of the New York Jets; they’re 2-0 ATS.

Miami’s only hope could be Thursday Night Football’s penchant for fatigue factoring into the results. Also, as a division rival, Miami is 6-1-1 ATS as an underdog of four points or more since 2019.

Miami’s struggles stem from the fact that its offense can no longer compensate for its defensive shortcomings. While quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had 315 passing yards and two touchdowns in Week 2, they average only 17.5 points per game overall while ranking 31st in points against at 33 ppg. Buffalo and MVP odds frontrunner  Josh Allen rank second in scoring at 35.5 ppg.

Since 2019, this matchup is 6-6-1 ATS, but the Bills have won 12 of the last 13 meetings.

Sunday Afternoon

Los Angeles Rams (2-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (2-0)

  • Start: September 21 at 1 p.m. ET on FOX
  • Spread: Eagles -4, Rams +4
  • Moneyline: Eagles -210, Rams +175
  • Total: O/U 45.5

The Eagles really could’ve opened 2025 with a Super Bowl hangover. And yet they look ready for a repeat with a division win over Dallas and an impressive Week 2 win against a Kansas City team desperate for Super Bowl revenge.

The Rams at 2-0 have once again established themselves as NFC contenders. QB Matthew Stafford, after missing the preseason with back issues, looked 100% in the Rams’ 33-19 win over the Tennessee Titans. Wideout Puka Nacua has been dominant, and their defense is legit – tied for second with just 14 points against.

That said, the Eagles’ defense is no slouch either. They have elite playmakers at nearly every position and have a 15-8 ATS record since the start of last season.

Sunday Night Football

Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) at New York Giants (0-2)

  • Start: September 21 at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC
  • Spread: Chiefs -6, Giants +6
  • Moneyline: Chiefs -275, Giants +225
  • Total: O/U 43.5

You could argue New York is just as desperate as Kansas City for a win, but no one ever mistook them for Super Bowl contenders in 2025.

That’s why we’ll give the edge to the Chiefs on the “desperate-for-a-win” meter. Kansas City had some tough opponents to start 2025, including the L.A. Chargers and Eagles, but with an average of just 19 points per game, they don’t look like contenders.

The main issue is the playmakers on offense. QB Patrick Mahomes leads the Chiefs in rushing, accounting for more than half of their yards. Tight end Travis Kelce had 108 yards against the Eagles, but had a crucial drop that led to an interception – maybe his mind was on marrying Taylor Swift?

This has culminated in Mahomes’ first 0-2 start since he was a sophomore in High School. With a -6-point spread on the road, it appears oddsmakers are doubtful he could go 0-3.

Monday Night Football

Detroit Lions (1-1) at Baltimore Ravens (1-1)

  • Start: September 22 at 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN
  • Spread: Ravens -6, Lions +6
  • Moneyline: Ravens -280, Lions +230
  • Total: O/U 51.5

The Lions and Ravens earn the highest total of the week, and it’s not a shocker; both these squads have some of the most unique and dominant offenses in football.

The Lions are coming off a 52-21 win over the Bears, and the Ravens beat the Browns 41-17. While oddsmakers have had a good grasp of the Lions’ scoring, with a balanced 11-9 O/U record since 2024, they’ve been a little scattershot with Baltimore, as they’ve gone over in 75% of their games since last year, leading the NFL.

The last Monday Night Football total this big was just a week ago when Minnesota faced Chicago; the game went under the 51.5 total.
