With his fight against Mike Tyson being postponed until November 15th, Jake Paul has found a new opponent in the meantime. Come July 20th, Paul will be stepping into the ring to face “Platinum” Mike Perry.

The fight is set to be an eight-round cruiserweight matchup and incidentally, this huge clash has been billed “FEAR NO MAN”.

The Trash-Talk Begins

As expected, the trash-talking has already begun. Perry has said: “If I fight that guy, man, I’m going to hurt that little Disney Boy if he fights me.”

Jake Paul instantly hit back with a photo of his rival at Disney World in Orlando, questioning who was the true “Disney Boy.”

More social media back-and-forth saw Jake Paul hit back with: “Platinum’ Perry might try to end me, I am Titanium Jake Paul and I fear no man.”

I’m sure there’s plenty more we can expect these two to say to one another, particularly come the press conference.

A Worthy Opponent

Mike Perry is a proven knockout artist who has shown to be a maniac in and out of the ring. This is the perfect experience for Paul to gain, prior to facing Mike Tyson, but getting that experience comes with risk.

Perry (5-0, 3 KOs BKFC) spent seven years competing in MMA and debuted with the UFC in 2016. He had a UFC record of 7-8 before departing the promotion to sign with BKFC in 2021. The pivot to bare-knuckle fighting has seen Perry, 32, become the promotion’s biggest star, with wins over the likes of former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez. His victory over the latter earned him the symbolic “King of Violence” championship.

However, Jake Paul has the advantage of professional boxing experience. Paul brings to the table 9 fights with 6 knockouts as a pro boxer, 11 of his fights have been against ex-UFC stars. Paul last fought in March when he stopped Ryan Bourland with a first-round TKO. However, Perry only has one pro fight, which he lost to Kenneth McNeil back in 2015.
