Ilia Topuria vs Charles Oliveira
Topuria (-450)
Heading a main card full of the best flyweights and lightweights, this title fight between Topuria and Oliveira is definitely worth its own weight in gold when it comes to entertainment value.
Topuria is undefeated so far in the UFC, winning all 16 of his fights.
His last fight was a brawl against Max Holloway, and he took down Holloway with a knockout in the third round at UFC 308. Topuria won Performance of the Night for that win too, and he beat another all-timer in Alexander Volkanovski earlier last year.
But that was way back in October 2024 for the Holloway fight, Topuria’s most recent bout. Could he have some ring rust heading into UFC 317? And he left the flyweight title to move up and pursue the lightweight belt.
Oliveria (+335)
But Charles Oliveira is probably keen on sending him back to flyweight…
Oliveira – one of the only UFC fighters still active who was born in the 80’s, and one of the best UFC lightweights of all time, – provides maybe the biggest challenge yet for Topuria.
The ageless Brazilian holds the UFC record for most submissions (21) and most finishes (20).
On top of age, the ring rust question could also apply to Oliveira, who hasn’t fought since November 2024. He took down Chandler to become the #2 contender in the lightweight division, after a loss earlier in the year to Arman Tsarukyan.
Count on Oliveira’s big match experience to possibly make him a solid value at +335. He’s beaten all the big names over the years, including Poirier and Gaethje.
Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara-France
Pantoja (-270)
Current Flyweight champ Alexandre Pantoja will put his belt on the line at UFC 317 against Kai Kara-France for the other huge title fight of the night.
Pantoja is on the best run of fights of his career at the moment. He has won his last 7 fights in a row and shows no signs of slowing down.
His career record is 29-5-0, with 11 first round finishes. When it comes to betting on Pantoja vs Kara-France, fans might like the combination of his early finishing ability and current hot streak to lay some action down on a first or second round win. Plus, he’s defended his title 3 times already.
Kara-France (+220)
Kai Kara-France may have other plans, however.
His own career record is a highly respectable 25-11-0, and he’s coming off a punishing first round KO in his most recent fight against Steve Erceg. His average fight time is a lengthy 12:19, meaning he can go long and might avoid Pantoja’s early rush.
A preview for these two fighters took place in the public eye years ago. On The Ultimate Fighter, albeit 9 years ago. Although it wasn’t an official UFC event, the stakes were high enough with so many people watching both fighters’ rise through the show.
It was Pantoja who won a unanimous decision in a fight that went the distance.
Whether you like history repeating itself or think Kara-France has been yearning for a rematch ever since then but doesn’t have the top-tier skill that Pantoja has, either way it might be the right call to have this one come down to another decision.
Beneil Dariush vs Renatio Moicano
Dariush (+102)
As a reminder that there’s more to fighting than just the Octagon, Beneil Dariush comes into the fight against Renatio Moicano as the current holder of the Forrest Griffin Community Award for his work funding orphanages in Haiti. Dariush is also a native of Iran, although he’s fighting as an American where he’s lived for the past 27 years.
So there are some storylines already before he sets foot in the Octagon. His record is 22-6-1 and Renatio Moicano’s is 20-6-1, which makes their current UFC 317 odds almost even heading into Saturday’s big event.
This highly anticipated fight was supposed to happen at UFC 311, so it’s overdue and both fighters are ready to settle the score.
Moicano (-112)
Moicano’s got the edge in the UFC 317 odds, riding a 4-fight win streak.
Dariush, meanwhile, has had a rough go and is looking for a win to salvage his standing as a main card fighter and a contender. He lost to Charles Oliveira in 2023 and followed that up with a shockingly quick exit against Arman Tsarukyan, losing in only 64 seconds.
He’s more of a striker than Moicano too. Expect Dariush to come out swinging, and if he connects, it could be an early finish.
So, who’s your fighter? Streak vs Strike? Check out the latest UFC odds and keep track of the action – Moicano’s durability is stronger, so if Dariush swings often but misses early, the fight could go the Brazilian veteran.
