Lando Norris +135
The McLaren team is flexing its Formula 1 power this season and both their drivers are gunning for the Drivers’ Championship title in addition to the checkered flag every weekend.
The Miami Grand Prix odds put both Norris and his teammate Oscar Piastri at the very top of the betting odds.
Norris has just one win on the F1 circuit so far this year (the Australian Grand Prix), but he’s placed well and fought hard in every race, including two second-place finishes. He’s currently second in the F1 drivers’ standings this season, currently just 10 points behind Piastri.
What might have the oddsmakers giving Norris the edge for the Miami GP?
He won his maiden first place finish a year ago on the Miami track, so F1 betting fans might like his odds to repeat the feat.
Oscar Piastri +135
Oscar Piastri has taken the F1 racing world by storm this year as he currently sits in first place in the F1 standings.
He’s part of the powerful McLaren team that has been equally impressive and is way ahead in the Constructors’ Championship standings.
Piastri has three wins already this season and is in the driver’s seat (pun definitely intended) for this season’s overall Drivers’ Championship – but there are plenty of races left.
In Miami, Piastri’s main competition will come from his McLaren teammate Lando Norris.
But based on recent results, even though their Miami Grand Prix odds are currently the same at +135, racing fans might be interested in giving the edge to the young Aussie who’s having a breakout season.
Max Verstappen +500
The Dutchman known as Mad Max is already a racing legend in F1.
Verstappen won his fourth World Drivers’ Championship last season, and although the competition has definitely closed the gap, he can still win a race every time he hits the track.
Mad Max has reached the podium three times so far this season, winning the Japanese Grand Prix and racking up a pair of second place finishes. At +500 currently, he’s in the unfamiliar spot of chasing two drivers before qualifying gets underway.
The Red Bull racer also likes racing on American tracks by the looks of it. Verstappen took home the checkered flag in the Las Vegas and Austin Grand Prix events in 2023, and he won at Miami in both 2022 and 2023.
This could make his +500 odds for Miami look even hotter.
George Russell +2500
If you’re the type of F1 betting fan who likes longer odds with bigger payouts, Russell might be your driver in Miami.
With 3 podiums so far and placing no worse than 5th in every race this season, Russell could be primed for the top prize in Miami. His Mercedes team is currently in 2nd place overall, and they seem to have finally overcome the car troubles that plagued them throughout 2024.
Other Miami Grand Prix betting preview nuggets that might tip the race in Russell’s favor?
He’s the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix winner, making him the most recent champion on U.S. soil. He finished 5th at the Austin Grand Prix last season as well, and his best result in Miami was a 4th place finish in 2023.
If anyone is poised for a surprise win this early in the F1 season, it’s Russell.
Charles Leclerc +10000
With a 3rd-place finish in Saudi Arabia, the F1 circuit’s most recent race, Leclerc will be looking to build on some of that momentum for the Miami Grand Prix.
It was the Ferrari driver’s first podium of the season, after two straight fourth-place finishes.
Savvy F1 betting fans will also note the Ferrari cars’ suitability to the Miami track. It is more technical than a lot of Grand Prix race tracks and has a good mix of high-speed sections.
Both Leclerc and his then-teammate Carlos Sainz (Leclerc has a new teammate this season, a Lewis Something or other that F1 fans might recognize) locked down the front row in the inaugural Miami Grand Prix race in 2022, with Leclerc grabbing pole position.
If these facts and intangibles all add up to a strong potential showing for Leclerc at the 2025 Miami GP, then his +10000 odds will make some fearless Ferrari fans very happy.
Lewis Hamilton +20000
It still feels a little crazy to see Lewis Hamilton sitting at +20000 ahead of any Formula 1 race.
But the Ferrari driver has struggled in his first five races with his new team, finishing no better than 5th so far this season.
Still, for some F1 bettors and fans, it feels like Hamilton can run it back on any given weekend to his former form as the world’s best driver for so many years, a run that included Driver’s Championships.
Curiously though, Hamilton has struggled at Miami. His best finish there is only 6th place.
His +20000 would produce a massive payday for a courageous bettor, but Hamilton’s best days are behind him it seems, and he’s not even the most favored driver on his own team anymore (see Leclerc above).
Bovada’s coverage of F1 races is massive and expands well beyond the outright winner. Players can pick from all kinds of other bets, from podium finishes to the winning team (for example, if you can’t decide between Norris and Piastri to come in first place, you can simply wager on their McLaren team) and much more.
Miami is going the bring the heat as always, just like Bovada does. Let’s start our engines…
