Ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, Corey Parson gives his picks for each of the betting markets at Bovada Sportsbook.

The NFL Draft takes place later this week in Kansas City. Bovada Sportsbook is offering NFL Draft betting props for those of you looking for some offseason NFL action. Let’s go through the four wagering options at Bovada.

First Player Selected

Young (-1500)

One of the keys to betting the NFL Draft is getting out in front of the number before a clear favorite emerges. That is the case this year as Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is currently a -1500 favorite to be the top overall pick. About 3 weeks ago, Young was as high as +275 to be the first player selected. The former Crimson Tide quarterback is a Heisman Trophy Winner who, outside of his height, fits the role of a face of a franchise quarterback– something the Carolina Panthers really need.

First Cornerback Selected

Witherspoon (-250)

When betting the NFL Draft you can’t be afraid to lay the juice although the prices for some of the favorites can be uncomfortable depending on the size of your bankroll. The market for “first selected cornerback” is led by Illinois corner Devon Witherspoon. I feel pretty confident that Witherspoon will be the first cornerback selected and I will be willing to lay the heavy juice at -250. It’s a part of it when betting on the NFL Draft.

First Offensive Lineman Selected

Skoronski (+145)

Unlike the past few seasons this is not the best class if you are looking for an Offensive Lineman in the first round. Right now, Ohio State Buckeyes Tackle Paris Johnson Jr. is the favorite to be the first O-lineman selected at -150. The 6-6, 313 pound Buckeye was a second team All-American and first-team All Big-Ten player. Despite that I do think this market is where you can hit a plus money bet. Peter Skoronski, the Tackle from Northwestern University, is currently sitting at +145 to be the first Offensive lineman selected. Skoronski, like Johnson Jr. is projected to be a top-10 pick. He could very well be the first offensive lineman drafted.

First Tight End Selected

Kincaid (+110)

For the first time in a long time the NFL draft is loaded with Tight End prospects. As many as three Tight Ends could be selected in the first round. Currently, Bovada Sportsbook has Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer as a -150 favorite to be the first tight end selected. Mayer is followed by Utah Tight End, Dalton Kincaid, and Georgia Tight End, Darnell Washington. Washington has the longest odds at +700, but he has the most upside. It really is going to come down to what teams are looking for. I would bet on Kincaid to be the first tight end selected at +110.
