2024 Week 9 College Football
#20 Illinois (+850) at #1 Oregon (-1800)
The Oregon Ducks (7-0) will be returning to a hero’s welcome at home as the nation’s newest #1 team this Saturday to take on Illinois (6-1).
The Ducks are currently favored by 21.5 points over the Fighting Illini. Is that large spread justified?
Illinois has beaten three ranked teams already this season, while Oregon – a top team for sure – might have slid into that #1 ranking because Texas lost by 15 and dropped the top spot in the country as a result.
But the Fighting Illini will need more than their meager 80-yard passing performance in last week’s win over Michigan to topple the mighty Ducks.
Oregon has scored 31+ points in every game except for Week 1, and they’re coming off a 35-0 pounding of Purdue, the same team that Illinois gave up 49 points to the week before.
The Ducks have also won 12 straight at home. They might just fly high this weekend too.

#17 Boise State (-170) at UNLV (+145)
Tuning in each week to watch Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is becoming must-see TV.
As he continues to run wild over opposing teams while bringing the Broncos to a 5-1 record, Jeanty has also led the team to put up scores of 56 twice and 62 once.
So why are the ranked Broncos only 3.5-point favorites over the unranked UNLV Rebels?
For starters, the Rebels are 6-1 themselves and have scored 72, 59, and 50 in three of those wins. They’re also 5th in the country in rushing yards per game, and also 5th in points scored. And their lone loss came at the hands of a controversial penalty call. Even Boise State coach Spencer Danielson is surprised that UNLV isn’t back in the AP 25 after starting Week 1 there.
Add in the fact that UNLV is 2nd in the country at +12 in turnover margin for good measure.
Both teams are fighting for top spot in the Mountain West Conference, with a potential CFP invitation on the line.
In a game where both defenses would probably prefer to try their luck in the nearby casinos instead, this Las Vegas shootout between Boise State and UNLV features a Total of 65.5, plus dozens of other ways to bet and get in on the action.
#21 Missouri (+410) at #15 Alabama (-585)
Alabama’s football season is at low tide as they receded a huge 8 spots in the rankings this week. This comes from a second loss of the season just last week against Tennessee. Right now, Alabama’s hopes of a spot in the College Football Playoff look slim.
This last-chance game for the Crimson Tide will require a turnaround from QB Jalen Milroe. After their big win over Georgia earlier this year and some other great performances, Milroe has 5 interceptions and just 3 touchdowns in the past three games.
If you’re looking at the current 55-point Over/Under, keep in mind the over has been hit in four of Alabama’s last five games.
But that 13.5-point spread is big for a ‘Bama team that has been underperforming this year. They are 0-3 in their last three games ATS, and haven’t covered a double-digit spread since early September.
On Missouri’s side, they’ve also been inconsistent this season. That inconsistency has dropped them from #11 in Week 1 to their current spot, where they could be in danger of leaving the Top 25 with another loss.
It comes down to handling the pressure on the road against a hungry – make that desperate – Alabama team. If talented QB Brady Cook starts to cook and top WR Luther Burden III turns into a beast, Mizzou could keep it close.
Bet on the spread, O/U and more for Missouri-Alabama this weekend.
#12 Notre Dame (-525) at #24 Navy (+375)
How about those Midshipmen? They’re 6-0 for the first time since 1979.
Navy is feeling it this season, covering their last 5 spreads behind a run game that is third in the nation.
They are facing a Fighting Irish side that also has a solid run game, currently 12th in the country in yards per game.
With two strong ground attacks, the difference may come down to run defense. In that case, give Notre Dame the edge. In each team’s last 3 games, they’ve given up over 80 fewer yards on average compared to Navy’s D.
When it comes to college football odds, Notre Dame currently has a 13-point edge in the point spread. They’ve got the higher profile and have beaten tougher teams this season compared to Navy, but the Midshipmen are at home, still undefeated, and might have the edge in vibes. A two-touchdown spread seems a bit high.

#8 LSU (+120) at #14 Texas A&M (-140)
The Louisiana State Tigers and the Texas A&M Aggies are both coming in hot for Week 9 of NCAA football.
They’re both riding 6-game win streaks, and with one of the closest spreads in college football odds this weekend, this game is a tough call for oddsmakers and NCAA betting fans alike.
The big question for this game is: which LSU team will show up? The one that soundly beat Missouri by 31 points, or the one that barely beat unranked Bowling Green?
The Aggies have kept teams to under 20 points per game on average this season, which could be a factor, especially given LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier’s 4 picks in his last three games. He can be a solid QB, but with 3 INTs in just two games against ranked teams this season, can he handle the pressure and the crowd at College Station?
Beyond the close moneyline and spreads for LSU-Texas A&M, play all kinds of other bets right here.
