MLB All-Star Game Odds

The MLB odds for the 2024 All-Star Game are heating up day-by-day, so check back often to make sure you get into the swing of things.

The top vote-getters were the New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge for the American League and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Bryce Harper for the National League. But Judge has the edge when it comes to the MLB All-Star Game MVP odds. He’s currently at +800, and by skipping the Home Run Derby the night before, he might be well-rested for the All-Star game on Tuesday night.

Same goes for Shohei Ohtani, who’s right behind Judge at +850 to take home the MVP honors. Ohtani is apparently saving his big swings for the big game too.

If you’re looking for longer odds and want to hit a four-bagger (or better) when it comes to payouts, Harper (+1100) is always ready to play in the spotlight, and Pittsburgh Pirates pitching phenom Paul Skenes (+5000) is the hottest rookie in decades – he’d make a great story for MVP voters and fans alike.

Skenes has already made history this year, becoming the first-ever player to be selected to the All-Star team after being drafted first overall in the MLB Draft in the same year. He’s 6-0 this year with a 1.90 ERA, and he seems to be setting a new rookie record for pitchers every week.

Home Run Derby Odds

The MLB odds for the annual Home Run Derby attract almost as much attention as the All-Star Game itself.

Millions of people tune in every year to watch the biggest hitters from the NL and AL mash on the Monday night before the big game.

Bettors beware: there are some changes to the MLB All-Star Home Run Derby this year, so prepare accordingly. In the first round and the semifinals, every hitter will be up against a three-minute clock. They’ll get up to 40 pitches total or as many as they can in that 3-minute timespan. There are some new tricks to earn bonus round at-bats too, so be sure to check out all the changes before you make your MLB bets.

But back to Bovada’s Home Run Derby odds.

New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso is the current front-runner at +300 to take home the derby and bag the $1,000,000 prize. But Gunnar Henderson (+550) leads the group of eight Home Run Derby participants at the break with 27 dingers so far. And don’t count out the hometown crowd in Texas cheering on the Rangers’ own Adolis Garcia (+400).

With Ohtani and Judge both skipping the event, the field is wide open when it comes to MLB odds for the unofficial bragging rights of having biggest bat in the bigs.

MLB All-Star Prop Bets

The MLB All-Star game also provides plenty of prop bets to get into.

Want a few potential winners that might result in a major league payday? The combo bet of Ohtani hitting a home run during the game and the National League winning is currently at +750.

How about +900 for any player to hit a grand slam?

Or if you want to play it safer with your MLB odds, the O/U for total runs scored in the game currently offers even odds at 7.5, and picking the AL (-105) as a slight favorite or the NL (-115) to win are straightforward plays. The American League leads the all-time series over the National League, but it’s close: over 93 MLB All-Star games dating back to 1933, the AL has a 47-44 edge, with two games ending in a tie.

Looking for a real long shot? No player has ever hit for the cycle (that’s a single, a double, a triple and a home run) in a Major League Baseball All-Star game. If you think this is the year, however, the MLB odds are an enticing +50000 for it to happen.

MLB All-Star Weekend

On Saturday, July 13th, the MLB All-Star festivities will include the All-Star Futures Game and the Future Skills Showcase. Both events bring together the league’s top prospects to show their stuff before the big guns come out on Tuesday night.

The All-Star Futures Game is a seven-inning tilt between the AL and NL, with players coming from all levels of minor league ball, class A all the way to AAA. Young guns like Aidan Miller and Samuel Basallo aren’t close to household names yet, but they – like many playing in the Futures game – are among the Top 100 prospects in baseball today.

Next up, the Future Skills Showcase is a brand new event for MLB All-Star week. Four top AL prospects and four top NL prospects will go head-to-head in a skills competition. Fans will get to catch an early glimpse – and savvy bettors will too – of future MLB stars, all of whom are playing in the minor league system for their respective pro teams.

That same day, sports and entertainment collide at the All-Star Celebrity Softball Game. Former NFL stars Terrell Owens, Dez Bryant and Deion Sanders will be taking to the field, along with country music star Kane Brown and the dudes from Dude Perfect.

On Sunday, July 14th the MLB Draft takes place at the Cowtown Coliseum in nearby Fort Worth as fans wait anxiously for their team to snag a future All-Star. Who will be the next Paul Skenes? Right now, some of the top prospects are second baseman JJ Wetherholt, 1B Nick Kurtz and 2B Travis Bazzana.

All in all, MLB All-Star week is packed and so are Bovada’s MLB odds.
