How to Win

To win a round of Blackjack, you must beat the dealer. You’ll both have a hand of at least two cards, and to win, you must have a higher score than the dealer, without going over 21 points.

The value of each card is covered below.

Blackjack Card Values

  • Aces are worth 1 or 11.
  • 2-10 have face value.
  • Face cards are worth 10.

Rules

  • The highest hand is a “blackjack,” which consists of one Ace and one 10-point card.
  • In six-deck and single-deck blackjack, the dealer must hit on a soft 17. A soft 17 is a hand that has an 11-point Ace.
  • In double-deck blackjack, the dealer must stand on a soft 17.
  • The option to double will double your bet and deal you one final card.
  • Being dealt two cards of equal value gives the option to split, meaning, you can split the two-card hand into two individual hands. Each hand will automatically receive a second card from the dealer, at which point, you choose whether to hit, stand or double for each hand.
  • If you split Aces, you will only receive one additional card for each hand.
  • Getting a 10 and Ace from a split hand results in a score of 21, not blackjack.
  • You can split up to three hands.
  • When the dealer’s face-up card is an Ace, you will be asked if you want to make a side bet called Insurance, which is half of your original bet. If the dealer gets blackjack, and you lose the hand, your Insurance bet will pay you 2 to 1.
